by Editorial Team

Cambodia and Cuba have taken a significant step to enhance their tourism sectors by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement was formalized in Siem Reap province, with Cambodian Tourism Minister Huot Hak and Cuba’s Ambassador to Cambodia, Milena Caridad Zaldívar Piedra, acting as signatories.

The MoU outlines a framework designed to foster collaboration between the tourism authorities of both nations. A key aim is to promote tourism development and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience. It is also expected to help expand Cambodia’s reach into Latin American markets, thereby creating new opportunities for tourism cooperation.

Based on principles of equality and mutual benefit, the agreement aligns with the longstanding bilateral ties between Cambodia and Cuba, which were established in 1960. Both countries see this partnership as a way to capitalize on their diplomatic relationship to boost tourism.

The cooperation agreement underscores the commitment of Cambodia and Cuba to enhance their tourism industries, potentially leading to increased visitor exchanges and economic benefits. This initiative reflects a broader effort to strengthen international relationships through cultural and economic partnerships.
