Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the “brave people of India” in a message of condolence to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following a deadly explosion in the nation’s capital. The blast on Monday killed at least eight people.
“To our dear friend Narendra Modi and to the brave people of India… we send our deepest condolences,” Netanyahu said. He offered a message of both sympathy and solidarity, stating, “Israel stands strong with you in sorrow and in strength.”
Netanyahu’s statement focused on the theme of resilience, declaring that the spirit of the two nations is “unshakeable.” “Terror may strike our cities, but it will never shake our souls,” he affirmed. He described India and Israel as “ancient civilisations” whose “light” will overcome the “darkness” of their enemies.
The blast is being investigated as a “terrorist attack” by Indian authorities. The case has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) by the Ministry ofHome Affairs.
The NIA has since formed a “dedicated and comprehensive” team to probe the explosion. Top sources have revealed that the investigation is focused on a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) module believed to be responsible for the deadly car bomb near the Red Fort.
